Putnam Family Standardbreds is proudly committed to Bringing Quality Home to Maritime harness racing. If you are breeding to one of our stallions you can be sure you are breeding to a quality sire and if you are purchasing one of our colts or fillies you can be certain you are buying a quality yearling that has received the best care possible.
We are very pleased to offer three stallions and hope that you will consider them when you are deciding which stallion suits your mare.

We would be pleased to do pedigree matching with your mare against any of our three studs. We can do hypothetical pedigrees, note our recommendations and fax or e-mail you the results.

Putnam Family Standardbreds will collect and ship semen and can have it anywhere in the Maritimes by 2:00 p.m. on collection day.

FOR OUR 2008 BREEDING SEASON:
We have facility's to board your mares (and foals) at our location and do this to better serve our fellow breeders.

All three of our stallions have had a cooled semen analysis to determine which extender works best for them. The breeding season will commence Monday, April 21st and close on Friday, July 18th. Stallions will be collected on Monday, Wednesday and Friday when there are semen orders.
All orders must be placed by 9:00 p.m. on the evening prior to a collection day. Orders are given preference according to the time they are called in.

We will offer multiple mare discounts even if you breed to two or all three of our stallions. To receive a breeding contract or place a semen order please call (902) 662-3112. Please send a deposit or contact us with your visa or mastercard number for your convenience.

2008 Semen Collection Charges

Semen preparation fee and packaging for orders picked up at the farm : $79.00 +HST
Semen preparation fee and packaging for orders shipped by bus (shipping included) : $99.00 +HST
Charges include a $39.00 deposit on the shipping container which will be refunded upon its return to our farm in good condition within 2 weeks of the original ship date.
